Boy Pillow is a multidisciplinary project from London born and based artist Ralf Hersborg exploring photography, music, performance art and various intrusive thoughts.

Rejecting photographic discourse, Hersborg explores the inherent ontological chaos of photography and how our individual visual literacy informs understanding. Dysfunctional subjects claw away from intelligibility, offering up readings that are serene and cathartic for some but violent and obscene for most. 

Soundwise, Boy Pillow’s DJ sets and music production are heavily influenced by the vast spectrum of the hardcore continuum. Hersborg finds equal value from chugging chainsaw guitar riffs found in Death Metal to blown out frantic kick sequences found in Hardstyle. “Erratic ear candy” is the goal.
